Multi-Sectoral Team Reviews Renovation Progress at Rususa Health Center

Today, a multi-sectoral team of staff involved in the construction of Muhororo District Hospital conducted a field visit to the project titled “Renovation Works for Upgrading Rususa Health Center in Ngororero District,” where the operations of Muhororo District Hospital will temporarily be relocated.

Before visiting the site, the team was warmly welcomed by the management of Ngororero District. Discussions focused on the state of healthcare services in Ngororero District, an overview of Muhororo District Hospital, ongoing health facility construction projects, including the Muhororo District Hospital project, and how these healthcare infrastructure developments will contribute to strengthening the health sector.

At Rususa, where construction works are underway as part of the “Renovation Works for Upgrading Rususa Health Center in Ngororero District” project, the team was presented with the architectural designs of the buildings under construction and toured the construction site.

In addition to inspecting the buildings, the team held discussions with Community Health Workers (CHWs) about their work, the tools and equipment they use, and their collaboration with different institutions in providing healthcare services to Rwandans.

Upon completion of the project, the existing facilities of Rususa Health Center will be used by Muhororo District Hospital while new, modern facilities’ construction works will have started by the next year’s beginning.

The “Renovation Works for Upgrading Rususa Health Center in Ngororero District” project is expected to be completed by 30 December 2026. Once completed, Rususa Health Center will be one of two health centers in Ngororero District designated as Medicalized Health Centers.
